Viva La Cafe'!

I know not everyone is a coffee drinker but wanted to share that I was at Starbuck's this weekend and I got a free iTune song download with my cup of Joe. I realize that with StarBuck's profit whoring that they are still making a big chunk of change off of my $3.60 cup of Cinnamon Dolce Latte but I just love the indulgence now and again. They also give away large bags of coffee grounds for free that can be used to spread in the garden. How to Spread Coffee Grounds In Your Garden

Research continues to support that coffee lowers risk of diabetes, Parkinson's disease, colon cancer, and headaches. It can also be a mood lifter and treat headaches. See more here Health Benefits of Coffee

Often, like a rainy day like today, or late in the evening, I prefer tea. Eastern traditionalist have always known that tea has even more antitoxins than coffee. Many articles conclude the same information as Dr. Gaynor's below:

"Dr. Mitch Gaynor, a cancer specialist at Cornell University’s Strang Institute, says results of initial tests show that the antioxidants in tea inhibit your body’s cells from becoming cancerous. Another study gave tea a role in preventing strokes. And there are studies that suggest that tea strengthens the cardiovascular system.

Other benefits include cavity reduction and improved fluid balance. Not to mention that the typical cup of tea has about 40 milligrams of caffeine, less than half a cup of coffee. And two small cups of green tea contain as much vitamin C as one glass of orange juice." My favorite place to shop for tea and coffee is the Decatur Farmer's Market where I can get choices from all around the world for just pennies per pound.

I'm always looking for coffee/tea info and should probably look up clubs on Meetup.com or something to find others with the same fetish. Where do you find your favorites?

I keep trying to use links in my blogs. Dang, I thought I had it down this time but it looks like the links don't work.

Harry's always had a decent selection, and Whole Foods does, too. I'm not sure about the prices. My personal favorite is to use the Lipton cold-brew bags to make iced tea at work (by the glass).

I wish I liked coffee. It sounds like fun. I do like tea though. There was a tea meetup, but I think it's gone now. The organizer never posted a place to meet. A lot of people were interested though so maybe it will revive eventually.

Next time I'm over, remind me to help you with the links.

Coffee...all I know is that since Sherrie got me started on Gevalia's flavors, I have a hard time drinking Maxwell House! :) However, Dunkin' Donuts' coffee suits my taste and my wallet.

Tea... I'm such a southern girl. The only way I really like it is iced and sweet!

Sorry. I know I'm not very cosmopolitan with those limited choices, and certainly not much help in your search for more exotic tastes. :)

By the way, is there any significance to the coffees you assigned to us in your links to our blogs? Just wondering.

Thanks for the tips! Dianne I will look for that group, thanks. Cheryl, oooh, I love Dunkin' Donut coffee and Krispy Kreme has good coffee also. Laura, the links had additional info about what I was talking about. For example, if you didn't already know, there is info out there describing acid loving plants that would most benefit from coffee grounds etc.

Laura, Oops, I'm sorry, I thought you meant the links in my blog that don't work. Duh, you mean, the coffee types I've assigned to your blog links. Those are just different types of espresso drinks. I was trying to be cute and was trying to make my blog look like a coffee menu or something.

What is it with me calling you Laura and your calling ME Laura? Is Laura just our generic name for one another? :)

It sounds like deep down, you both WISH you were Laura. :)

I am LOL! I came on to say "Ahem, Donna. Time for a new blog post".

I hadn't seen all the "Laura" talk.

Should I be honored - or very, very scared?

Maybe Dianne is right :-D

Nah, that can't be right...

So, ummmm.... Donna... it's 2008 now.
