It always gives me goose bumps to see a launch!

That would be exciting to see one of these rare night launches.

Ooooh that was pretty! I saw a live launch once when I was around 10. So cool!

I saw an early-dawn shot from the parking lot of an Orlando hotel. The coolest part was when the two smaller external tanks were jettisoned. I'm not sure if this is usual, but you could see the brief reflection of the tanks rotation as they fell, kind of blink-blink-blink all the way down. They were still fairly synchronized too, even though they must have separated by---miles, maybe?

I can't imagine the impact when they splash down, it must be tremendous. Now THAT's something I'd make a road trip to see. However, I don't think the US Navy would allow a good viewing spot, for obvious reasons.

Go to this website: http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/imagegallery/index.html and look for the items titled "Fire in the Sky" and "Into the Night". Totally amazing! I want to get pictures like that!!!!!
